Staff

At Solid Rock, we believe the counselors are the most crucial part of the camp experience. The counselors are responsible for providing oversight of the campers, from ensuring campers are kept safe to keeping campers engaged in fun and exciting activities all day long. Counselors also lead the campers in a Bible story each day and have the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with their campers throughout the week.

For that reason we take the process of hiring and selecting counselors very seriously. All of our counselors are referred to us by individuals that are involved with camp. We then have potential counselors fill out an application, pass a background and reference check, and complete an interview process before being selected to work at Solid Rock. All of our counselors then go through comprehensive training, and many of our Sr. Counselors are Lifeguard and First Aid certified.

Each group is led by a Sr. Counselor, who must be at least 18 years old and have one year of experience at Solid Rock. Sr. Counselors are assisted by Jr. Counselors who must be at least 16 years old. At Solid Rock we keep a ratio of 1 counselor to every 8 campers, and for our 4&5 year olds we maintain a ratio of 1 counselor to every 4 campers.

In addition to our counselors, we also have specialized staff who lead our specific programs, such as the ropes course and archery. Each of these individuals are trained and certified to ensure every camper is kept safe and learns essential skills related to the activity.
